Busy Week.

So as you all know I had a birthday last Wednesday and because I am T.J. one day just wasn't enough so Mommy and Daddy said it was my 'Birthday Week' and boy was it a busy week! We got pictures taken, went out to eat, went shopping for toys (twice) and I had my very first birthday party! I would say I had a great first birthday. I didn't really play in my cake, but I did a good job opening my presents.  Since I had a cold a couple weeks ago the doctors on my case wanted to get blood drawn before surgery to make sure everything was good to go.  Well it was all cleared, but I have a cough which my surgeon said was because of my fistula but after she heard it she was unsure if it was my fistula or the end of my cold.  She decided to run some more tests and wait two weeks that way my recovery wouldn't be in jeopardy. Better to be safe than sorry and with my track record you can never be too safe! So I got to come home but unfortunately my day wasn't so good, because we were supposed to be at the hospital for so long we didn't get any of my prescriptions filled so I had to go all day with out my acid reflux medicine which had me waking up two to three times an hour coughing stuff up...no fun. Today started off rough because my medicine wasn't ready right away, but soon after taking it I was a lot better and have been slowly getting back to normal. I have another tooth that make 7! Something new I've learned is to pull myself up on my feet!  PLT.

Happy Birthday to me!

Well this week I decided to do an update today because its my very first birthday!!! You have been reading my blog for about a year and you have all helped Mommy, Daddy and me through a lot with your kind thoughts and prayers and we are very grateful for every one of you. We have heard of people from all around the world praying for us and we just wanted to say thank you.  Monday I went to Children's and they did another Esophagram along with an Upper GI. The reason my surgeon wanted these tests done is because she wanted to see if there were any changes with anything so close to surgery, but mainly wanted to take another look at the size of my tiny tummy. So the results.
 1. The fistula looks the same. :-/
 2. My stricture looks great which is awesome as long as the tissue is healthy! Please pray the tissue looks good once shes in there so she doesn't have to cut anything out.
 3. My stomach looks bigger therefor my surgeon is very optimistic when it comes to doing my stomach wrap as long as everything else goes good! She did say (and we know this from experience) that the pictures they take aren't always what they seem so please pray for enough stomach to do my stomach wrap that way we can help my acid reflux without using my small intestine or colon and we can get it all done within this one surgery!

Yesterday I had OT and PT both went better this week now that I am feeling better. First I had OT and didn't want anything but toys until they gave me a cupcake then I was interested in eating. I mainly played with it, but did eat a little bit too :) Next I had PT which they woke me up for so I was not happy, but I am doing great. I am rolling like a champ (still only to the right), crawling everywhere and having a blast! I am comfortable pulling myself up onto my knees, but struggle with getting onto my feet and then back down and crawling over things. PT says this is common and I am making great improvement from week to week!  Mommy did teach me how to say "Ha Ha! and What's that?" and stick out my tongue in a silly way this past week and I have been making more funny faces, but not much more has changed. Today Mommy, Daddy and I woke up and opened some gifts and then went and had our pictures taken. At first it was okay, but then I got mad and there is a picture to remember it by. Please enjoy.

                                                       Happy 1st Birthday to me!!!

                                                                  I like my pony

One more week!

I will be turning ONE next Wednesday...my how time flies! This past week Mommy and I got a cold so we didn't do too much. I did get to go to church for the second time though and had a blast! Today I had OT but I wasn't very happy and didn't want to eat anything or sit in the highchair so I just played instead. I am still not feeling the greatest so that might be the reason I didn't want to cooperate and we think my fistula is making it uncomfortable for me to swallow certain things, but we will never know for sure.  I did have some mint ice cream last night and enjoyed about 10 small bites of it.  I am really only interested in water at the end of a straw, but that is better than nothing!  I haven't had PT yet this week, but I am rolling over (only to the right) crawling everywhere, climbing on stuff and trying to pull myself up onto my feet.  I figured out there is stuff on top of the table so I try to get them and throw them on the floor, I also recently found the stairs and I am very anxious to go up them, but haven't quite figure it out yet.  This past week I have also gotten to go outside a lot which I really liked!  Please continue to pray. My surgery is getting closer and we need all the prayers we can get! Thank you!

Big Meeting

Hello and welcome to T.J. Thursday.  I know what your thinking, "What it's normally T.J. Tuesday what's up with that?"  We decided to wait until today because today we met with my surgeon!  Mommy and Daddy asked her questions about my surgery.

Here is the plan:
1. On the 22nd do esophagram and upper GI to make sure things are the same as last time and to check the size of my stomach.
2. On the 29th have surgery which will be 4 to 6 hours long.
3. Check fistula and disconnect it.
4. If needed remove stricture and connect healthy esophagus together.
5. Use tissue from the lining of the heart or lungs to place behind new connection to prevent new fistulas
6. Check stomach and wrap to see if full wrap is possible
7. Stitch me up
8. Recover (usually about 2-3 weeks, hopefully shorter and possibly longer.

My new favorite thing is crawling and getting into all of Mommy and Daddy's stuff.  OT is going slow this week, I'm not as interested in it for some reason, but I do like a little water from a straw.  PT  has been out to our house twice now and she is very happy and surprised with where I am considering my past!  I'm starting to pull myself up with the table, couch, etc. It's a whole new world up there! As long has someones holding my hands I will walk!!! We know there are a lot of people praying and thinking of us daily and we just want to let you all know how thankful we are and ask that you keep up the amazing work please!

I'm ready to move in my walker.

Along with crawling I got to enjoy my first Easter and won my very first Easter Egg hunt (with Mommy's help) I got 60 eggs all together on Sunday and I love playing with them! I also went to church for the first time and was pretty good but rowdy too :)  More good news I have been eating like a champ and my OT therapist is super happy especially since after my leak I wasn't allowed to eat anything for a month!  Tomorrow a PT therapist is coming out so I will update you on that next week!
