I'm 11 lbs!!!


       Not a whole lot has changed except that I continue to gain weight and length.  Oh yeah my feeds have gone up too.  I get fed 106 mls for an hour and a half then I don't get fed for an hour and then repeat.  My Mic-key button leaked a little bit but not too much.  Please continue to pray for my esophagus to get longer and for my mic-key button to stop leaking Thank You.

Mic-key Button for Mickey's Baby


       No I didn't spell it wrong, but both of those are pronounced just like the mouse.  My GJ-tube is gone!  Now I have a Mic-key button.  Pretty much the same thing except the button can disconnect from the tubes which means I can do tummy time and make it easier for you to hold me.  Other then that there hasn't been a lot of news with me except I turned 3 months old today so I decided to take the day to just relax and grow and play with Mommy and Daddy.  Mommy and Daddy surprised me with a photo shoot today too can you tell????

I just found out that there is a problem with E-card sender link.  It's not your computer but if you have sent me an E-card in the last two weeks I may not have received it.  You can keep trying every week or day depending on how often you want to send one, but if you get a technical error at the end the hospitals system is still down.  If you have sent me a card and didn't get that message but haven't been thanked on the blog I never received it so you too can send it again and when I do get it I promise I will post a thank you on here.

4 More Weeks

          Praying this is my last 4 weeks.                          Happy Baby!

      
       Well my gap study went well and I have good news and 2 issues of bad news.  First bad news this blog won't be long because not a lot happened except the gap study.  The good news I did grow from the last gap study which is great because of all the hiccups of leaking G-tubes and having to use a J-tube.  The second bad news is the growth was only 0.5cm so I still need to grow at least 1cm more.  Mommy and Daddy are supposed to talk with the surgeons here tomorrow to see what we are going to do if I don't grow anymore or if I leak anymore and also if I do grow enough.  They are also going to send my file to the Boston Dr.s.  That's really all I got, this week was really mellow I did enjoy my visitors though!!!

T.J. Thursday???

       Since the middle of June Mommy and Daddy have been waiting for this Wednesday July 11th, only for the Dr.s to say, "Yeah, we have to wait until Thursday July 12th because of schedueling."  As of right now I still have my J-tube in and I'm getting 31mls of milk every hour.  Which is great because I'm gaining weight and getting nutrition from Mommy instead of the TPN medicine.  But I'm not using my stomach so that means my stomach may shrink and cause me to lose growth the longer we wait.  Hopefully I haven't lost any and my esophagus has grown at minimum 1.5cm.  That is what the Dr.s are going to check for on Thursday.  How is the procedure executed you ask?  The Dr.s take me into the X-ray room and then they take out my J-tube and G-tube and replace those with a metal tool and push my esophagus from my stomach upwards.  At the same time they take out my repogul tube and use a tube that shows up on X-rays down my throat and push my other esophagus tube downwards towards the metal tool and take pictures to determine if there is growth.  The space in between the two tools is called my gap.  My gap has to be a minimum of 1.5cm or shorter to be able to be connected.  Extra prayers and fingers crossed for Thursday please!! :-)

Starting Fresh

       It's now July and with this new month Mommy, Daddy and I are starting new.  July 11th is the day we've been waiting for.  The Dr.'s will take me downstairs to do another gap study and with hope and prayers we are hoping for at least 1.5 cm growth.  It would be better for more, but this is the minimum.  If it is longer that's just icing on the cake.  That's still another 8 days away though, so now for some updates.  The J-tube is back in because I pushed a little bit of milk and acid out of the G-tube site.  The site is now looking awesome Mommy and Daddy say.  I have no IV's and I am off of Morphine!  I can still get Tylenol if I'm feeling ouchy.  Physical therapy went really well too.  I'm getting a lot better at holding my head up for longer periods of time.  If I'm not smiling I'm either asleep, crying, or staring at the ceiling.
