Close Call.

   So we had a good week, Thursday was my Daddy's Birthday and I had a doctors appointment where we got good news about my head! Doctor said everything looks good!!! Then we went out to eat and I had a blast sitting in the booster seat and even got to try some Birthday cake! We had a pretty good and relaxing weekend too, I turned 10 months old on Sunday!!! I am working on 2 new teeth that makes 6 all together and I already have a habit of grinding them which Mommy and Daddy can't stand :) I also have a new favorite thing to do I think they call it waving...I do it whenever I see someone new and they do it back which makes me smile!  Yesterday we went to Children's for my dilation all was going well until they checked for leaks and saw one and I wasn't feeling very good after that so my surgeon decided it was best to keep me there for a few days and put me on some medicine to help with any infections that I could get from having a leak. Today I am doing much better, so much actually that they decided to do an esophagram to see if there was any change and there was, thanks to prayer it healed itself over night! It must have been a small leak or even a contained leak because there was nothing there today! I am still on my new medicine just to be safe the only bad thing is that I cant do any feeding by mouth until I can go back in and have it checked after my medicine is gone.  On a good note they did send us home and my personality is back to normal. I guess I'm just happiest when at home! :) Enjoy some new pictures!

Easy Breezy Week

       Not much has happened this week because I don't have to go the hospital as much anymore!  Last Thursday I had my very first Valentines Day! Mommy and Daddy got me a sock monkey that I just love (see pictures below)!!!  OT and PT are going very well and I'm making very good progress.  Tummy time is getting much better and easier. I'm still trying to get onto my knees and rock back and forth. I can move side to side and backwards so it won't be long until I'm playing follow the leader with Mommy and Daddy! My eating is also getting better I don't spit as much out now but I still have a long way to go.  I do have an x-ray scheduled for Thursday just because my pediatrician noticed my head circumference was fluctuating so much he just wants it checked, but he's not expecting anything serious if at all.  We go back for my dilation on Monday and it will be the first one this month!!! I would like to ask everyone to please continue to pray that my dilation's go well so I can come home the same day and also pray that my acid reflux gets better and my stomach stretches out enough to help with it. I also want to wish Daddy a Happy 25th  Birthday Thursday and thank you for spending it with me taking me to the hospital. I Love You!

And The Results Are In...

      On Wednesday we went to the hospital for a swallow test and an upper GI.  The upper GI was first and  it didn't go as well as we wanted, but we did get some good news out of it.  Bad news, my acid reflux acted up immediately.  That means the J-tube has to stay in. My surgeon originally decided to schedule a surgery at the end of the month to fix my partial stomach wrap and make it a full stomach wrap to help with my acid reflux, but after looking more at my x-rays she saw that I didn't have enough stomach to work with since she had to pull some of my stomach up to connect my esophagus, so now instead of going through with the surgery we're going to wait a couple of months to see if my eating by mouth will help stretch out my stomach enough to do the full stomach wrap.  If not we will have to decide if we want to use my small intestine or colon to help which we do not want to do. So please pray that my stomach will stretch out enough.   The good news is that the test showed that my stricture is staying open better then what the doctor's expected.  PTL!!! That means instead of going to the hospital twice a month we only have to go once a month!  The swallow test could have been better, but we did get the OK to start taking thin liquids.  So I am drinking my water out of my sippy cup, which I love to do (even though I don't get much out on my own and really just like playing with my cup).  I love it so much that I have decided to drink my food out of a bowl. I still like to feed myself with my spoon though :-) My PT is getting better and better everyday, yesterday I even tried to get up on my hands and knees to start crawling, but there were too many people watching so I decided to just lay there and watch TV :-)

Good Week, Big Day

       This last week was pretty much routine for me, Mommy and Daddy.  We didn't have to go to the hospital at all on Monday!  I had OT last Friday and it went okay, but basically we just stayed home and worked on the house all week and watched the Superbowl on Sunday.  Our week was kind of uneventful which to us is awesome!  Now today's OT was one of the best appointments I've had since we've been going.  I was feeding myself with the spoon (The nurse put food on it first though) and drinking water out of the cup the whole time!  I am also continuing to get better with tummy time and I'm starting to move around a very tiny bit.  My top two teeth have also broken through and are starting to come in more (I now have 4 teeth total). :)
       
       Tomorrow is another big day for me, we go to the hospital at around noon to have a swallow study.  This will determine whether or not I can start taking thin liquids like Mommy's milk by mouth even though I've been drinking water out of a sippy cup. This should also tell my surgeon whether my partial stomach wrap is working.  I also have a test that examines my stomach acid levels to see if they can take out my J-tube.  If all goes well then I no longer have to have the pump to eat continuously.  Thank you to everyone who has prayed for me and my family it means everything to us.  We are so lucky to have you in our lives!
