I'm a big boy!  

       So this week has been good! OT is going alright I am at least trying things and not putting up too much of a fight :) We heard back for our dietitian and the feeding specialist thinks that I am a perfect match for them so our first appointment is Feb. 10th,  Hopefully they can get me on the right track to getting this tube out! Mommy has noticed recently that I bite my nail...and I get angry when she tells me to stop.  I am starting to say I love you more even though it sounds like 'I low yo'  everyone still loves it! I also say Amen after prayer and have learned snow (sounds like no)! I have also been peeing in the potty. YAY! Mommy isn't rushing it. I just get to sit on the potty a few times a day, but I have told her a couple times when I have to go so I'm learning! Something that most of you probably don't know is that I can't be in water that goes over my tube and I have had to be very careful with bath time. I have had a couple baths in the bathtub, but mainly I take my baths in the kitchen sink because I feel more comfortable in a smaller space. Mommy thought it would be a good idea to try the bathtub again since we all know I am growing like a weed and with a lot of toys I LOVED IT and cried when she took me out, but I know I will get plenty more.

Nutrition Update

       I've been doing great! OT is getting better and better every week. I am still not eating like I was, but am working back up to it very well.  I had a Nutrition appointment today and I haven't gained weight like she wanted (only by 1lb so nothing serious) but I haven't lost any which is great news since I was so sick for about 2 weeks. So nothing changed as far as feeds.  She does want to talk to a specialist that specializes in transitioning tube fed children into mouth fed children. This is very exciting because obviously we want my tube out, but at the same time it's scary because we're not sure if I can handle my formula going into my stomach and the reason is because I have no tightening at the end of my esophagus that helps keep food down like everyone else does. so they are worried about aspiration. Also our surgeon has to be on bored and she isn't wanting to change anything at all. So we'll have to wait and see!  The great news is that when I eat by mouth everything is fine and I am able to keep it down (for the most part) and control liquids.  We will be sure to update everyone as soon as we know anything on that. We did get a new weight and length today and I am getting taller by the second. I weight 26.5 lbs and I am 35 in. tall!!!  I am continuing to talk more and am learning to jump :)  Special video edition: Watch my reaction to drinking grape juice.

Medicine Works! 

       This week has been good.  OT is getting better now that I am feeling a lot better.  I am back to eating my snacks.  I still don't want as much food as I did before I got sick, but I'm working on it.  Saturday was Mommy's birthday so we went shopping and out to eat and I had fun, but got tired quickly.  Happy Birthday Mommy!!! Nothing has changed since last week, but next week I will be able to update you on my Nutrition appointment I have coming up. I'm sure not much will change since I've been sick and haven't been eating as much as I need to.

Doctors Update 

       I went to my pediatrician on Friday. I was really sick with a bad cough, diarrhea, runny nose and rash. He said it was a yucky virus and compared it to Bronchitis.  As for the rash he was unsure, but gave Mommy some gel to try and it is working so far.  I am feeling so much better! My cough is almost completely gone and my nose isn't running as much. Mommy's been using Little Noses and I don't like it one bit, but its helping. I forgot to tell you guys I have added a few ASL signs to my list. I can now sign Happy, Water and Baby. All together I can sign 7 signs! Short and sweet this week :) Hope everyone is staying safe and warm.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! 

       I'm sorry this post is super late. We have been very busy. I had a great holiday season. I got to see a lot of my family and friends. I had a great time playing with all the other kids my age! My Christmas was just as big if not bigger than last year!  My favorite toy right now is cars, or anything with wheels and boy did I get a lot of them!  I entered the New Year with a bad cough, runny nose, diarrhea and bad rash which is no fun. I was Mommy's first kiss though!!! Sorry Daddy!  I waited until today to update you this week because I had my surgery clinic appointment today! She was happy with everything and even took me down a little bit on meds! I am good to go until March 6th when I see her again. I also had a Radiology appointment today to change my G/J Tube I didn't like it, but it was done and over with in no time and I got a toy truck afterwards along with a ball and a movie from the surgery clinic! Last weeks OT went okay...I wasn't that into it and I didn't get to go this week because I'm sick (and not wanting to eat anything at all) and I had my doctor appointments today, but hopefully next week I will be feeling good enough to go back. I go to see my pediatrician tomorrow to see whats up with my cold and rash. Hopefully he can help me feel better. I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday Season and you're all staying safe and warm!
