Feeding Update

This week has been great!  I finished my first ever plate of food.  Mommy and Daddy gave me pork chops, cheesy potatoes and green beans and I ate it all.  I also ate a whole jar of pickles in two days last week.  The bumps below my left eye were back yesterday, but after using the cream last night they are gone.  They have been coming and going for the past couple of weeks so if they come back again we will probably make an appointment to get it checked out.  I didn't have OT this week because I had to go to see my feeding specialist and it was a great appointment.   I wasn't all that happy when they called us back because Mommy and I were waiting on Daddy and I didn't want to go in without him, but I let them weigh me and take my height without crying :) which is the first time I've done that.  They were extremely happy with where I am and how well I've been doing.  I have jumped above the 50th percentile in weight!  I am now 30 pounds and almost 36 inches tall.  They said I am going through a growth spurt. We are continuing on the same path as far as upping my g-tube feeds (going up 5ml every week) for 8 weeks and then we go back to see how I am doing.  They did say since I was eating by mouth and gaining weight so well that we could start off by taking an hour off of my continuous feed at night which drops us down to 6 1/2 a hours a night which is amazing considering when I first came home I was on the pump for 18 hours a day.  Also I don't have to take a full g-tube feeding if I have a great meal by mouth. That way we're not over doing it.  By then end of the next 8 weeks I should (if I tolerate everything) be down to 4 hours and 45 minutes of night feeds!  Hopefully all of this goes well because as soon as I get down to 0 night feeds they can take my J tube out (not my G-tube just my J tube) and I wont need my pump anymore.  Please pray that I can tolerate all of my feedings and continue eating more by mouth.  Thank you so much.
