Good News!

I had OT this week and my therapist said I was doing great and nothing had changed during the month we didn't see her and I have actually continued to progress.  I ate everything she gave me even yogurt (I hate yogurt) I had to keep washing it down with water, but I didn't complain or say no.  She said I didn't have to go back!  I do have to go back one more time in April before my third birthday just to make sure everything is still good, but other than that I am done!!!  This is great news because between therapist, doctors and other specialist they assumed I would need both PT and OT until I was well into school.  I haven't has PT in about a year and now I done with OT and I'm not even three!!!  This is so exciting for us and such great news.  Another huge step in the right direction!  On another good note I got my juice and I like it!  I haven't drank that much because I've been having some issued going potty and mommy has to mix medicine into my juice or water and it taste funny.  Today I drank my medicine with water which wasn't good, but mommy doesn't want to ruin my love for juice.  Our weekend was nice and slow we actually didn't even leave the house.  Other than the issues with going potty I am doing very well with potty training and think I almost got it down pat! I have been wearing big boy undies for almost two weeks and I now call for Mommy through the night when I have to go!  Even though my birthday isn't for a few months I have already been talking about what theme I want and how excited I am to turn three even though I love telling people I'm two!    I hope everyone is staying warm.  Please pray that my potty issues continue to get  better.  Thank you!

                                                            Telling Mommy I'm hungry

                                                                      No more OT!!!!!

#ThrowBackThursday! The day I finally came home!

#TransformationTuesday I've grown so much and so fast!

                                                                           Just chillin'

Did you know that there are several types of EA/TEF? Mommy and Daddy were only told about two different types when talking to doctors about what could possibly be wrong with me before I was born. January is EA/TEF awareness month please educate yourself. ‪#‎EATEFAwareness‬

Great week!

We've had a great week.  We still haven't gone back to OT, but we are planing on going back next week.  We are still waiting for my order of  juice to get here that way I can start drinking that and stop using my gtube!!!
I have been doing great with potty training!  Mommy has taken me out of diapers during the day for a few days now and I get to wear super hero big boy undies.  I've only had a few accidents.  Usually one a day, but that's to be expected.  Mommy and I went with some family to Recreational Outlet this past weekend and I LOVED IT!!!!!!  Recreational outlet is an indoor play place in Powell, OH that has several wooden swing sets and trampolines along with basketball hoops.  I loved climbing up the stairs and going down the slides!!!  I cried when we left, but did such a good job while we were there listening to Mommy and I even had on big boy undies and didn't have not one accident!   Hopefully I get my juice soon and can tell you how I like it next week! until then enjoy some pictures!

This little girl's story is the closest to mine we've seen so far. So happy she was in the hands of this amazing surgeon. A lot of people don't know that Mommy and I were getting ready to move to Boston to be under the watchful eye of Dr. Russell Jennings when he agreed to help our surgeon here in Ohio learn the Foker process so we could stay home instead. A couple weeks after my surgeries Dr. Jennings emailed Mommy personally to ask how I was doing and she was able to tell him that because of him and our surgeon I was doing great! I am where I am and am doing as well as I am today because of this doctor and this surgery. ‪#‎January‬ ‪#‎EATEFAwareness‬   You may have to copy and paste link.

Everything is the same!

Nothing new this week other than we celebrated Mommy's 26th birthday!!! Happy birthday
Mommy!!!

EA/TEF
Esophageal atresia (EA) is a rare birth defect in which a baby is born without part of his esophagus. EA frequently occurs along with tracheoesophageal fistula (TEF). Up to half of all babies with EA/TEF have another birth defect, as well. Before treatment, babies are often unable to swallow, can’t feed normally and may have trouble breathing. Although EA can be life-threatening in its most severe forms and cause long-term nutritional concerns, the majority of children fully recover if it’s detected early. The best treatment is surgery to reconnect the two ends of the baby’s esophagus to each other. In some children, however, so much of the esophagus is missing that the ends can’t be easily connected. This is known as long-gap esophageal atresia. I had to be looked over and had quite a few tests done to make sure I didn't have any other birth defects associated with EA/TEF while doing these tests they discovered I had a stage 1 brain bleed and a small hole in my heart. (Both of witch corrected themselves. Thank God!), but they also discovered that I was one of the very few babies with isolated long-gap EA and I was also the very first that my surgeon ever worked on. Daddy and Mommy had never heard of EA/TEF when the doctors told us that I had it...We were one of the lucky families who got to prepare for it before I was born. Most of the time it goes undetected until the baby is born and starts choking or turning blue. Help make EA/TEF known. The whole month of January is EA/TEF awareness month please wear periwinkle to show your support and tell someone about T.J. or EA/TEF. ‪#‎January‬ ‪#‎EATEF‬ ‪#‎Awareness‬ ‪#‎TJ‬ ‪#‎BabyBoyBragg‬ ‪#‎LongGapEA‬‪#‎Periwinkle‬ ‪#‎BridgingTheGap‬

HAPPY 2015 and EA/TEF Awareness Month!

I hope everyone had a great time celebrating the new year!   I got to spend new years with my Mommy, Daddy, Great Grandma Fisher, Memaw and Pepaw Bragg.  There isn't much to talk about other than I forgot to tell everyone last week that I weigh 30lbs and I am 37 inches tall now :)  Also we haven't gotten the juice yet :-/ so hopefully we'll be getting that soon and we can start ignoring my tube :) No OT again this week we had the option to come this week or next week so we picked next week.  My cold is slowly getting better.  I am still taking meds and using the humidifier. Hopefully it all goes away soon.  I hope everyone had a great, happy, healthy start to their new year.

Also January is EA/TEF awareness month so every week I will share something that will educate you on my birth defect!  If you'd like to support EA/TEF awareness month you can wear periwinkle :)

January is EA/TEF awareness month! EA/TEF stands for Esophageal Atresia/Tracheo-Esophageal Fistula and is a rare congenital birth defect that effects 1 in 4000 live births and was universally fatal until 1935. With EA/TEF, a baby is unable to swallow, and may also have trouble breathing. Help spread awareness for EA/TEF and wear periwinkle this month and tell your family and friends my story! ‪#‎EATEF‬ ‪#‎Awareness‬ ‪#‎TJ‬ ‪#‎BabyBoyBragg ‬‪#‎OneInFourThousand‬ ‪#‎Periwinkle‬ ‪#‎BridgingTheGap‬
